Our vision:
We want to inspire and enable people with dyslexia to reach their potential in life, learning and work. We aspire to create a dyslexia-friendly Scotland that values the skills and talents of dyslexic people.

We do this by:

Providing and promoting high quality information, advice, training, support and services
Influencing and achieving positive change.
Giving people with dyslexia a voice.

Our mission
Our mission is to inspire and enable everyone to reach their full potential. To make that happen, we have set four clear goals:

Provide and promote high quality services to people with dyslexia.
Influence and achieve change at a national and local level.
Give dyslexic people an effective individual and collective voice.
Support our network of branches, members and partners.

Our services
To achieve our vision, we provide services for dyslexic people, their supporters, educators and employers. These include:

A Helpline.
Training and CPD.
One to one career guidance.
Adult peer support groups.
Events and activities.

Making change happen

We see talking to the Scottish Government, Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs) of all parties, national and local decision makers and other policy makers across different sectors as one of our most important jobs. By working together, we created a definition of dyslexia. Adopted by the Scottish Government, Dyslexia Scotland and the Cross-Party Parliamentary Group in January 2009, the definition is a crucial step. It means less confusion – allowing dyslexia to be identified more accurately, to be recognised in relevant legislation, and better supported.
